Dorothy Kleiber, B.Ed, BA (Hons)

Owner, Accounting

Dorothy Kleiber is an experienced professional with a strong background in finance, education, and business management. With a keen eye for strategic planning and operational efficiency, she plays a key role in supporting the success of her family’s structural steel construction business.

Dorothy holds both a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg, bringing a strong foundation in leadership, organization, and problem-solving. Her diverse career has spanned roles in banking, education, and business administration, allowing her to contribute valuable financial and operational insight to the company.

Beyond her professional expertise, Dorothy has always been dedicated to community service. She has actively participated in local organizations, advocacy initiatives, and volunteer efforts, including securing provincial funding for essential programs. Her commitment to strong planning and accountability extends into her work, where she emphasizes fiscal responsibility, efficiency, and long-term growth strategies within the steel construction industry.

Michael Kleiber, B.Sc. (Elec Eng.), CSO, MBA

Owner, General Manager

Michael Kleiber is a dedicated General Manager with a strong technical and operational background in the structural steel fabrication industry. Promoted to his current role at Champion Ironworks Ltd. in 2022, he leads production and project management for complex, high-value assemblies, focusing on optimizing workflows and ensuring quality standards. Michael’s leadership in tracking production milestones and coordinating inventory has been essential to delivering timely, high-quality results across multiple projects.

With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, an MBA, and a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) designation, Michael brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. His prior roles—ranging from Production Manager to Project Manager—underscore his proficiency in streamlining operations, fostering team growth, and solving technical challenges. Known for his commitment to continuous improvement, Michael leverages his skills to create efficient processes that meet both customer specifications and industry standards.

Michael Reimer, B.Sc. (Mech Eng.)

Senior Project Manager

With over a decade of experience in the steel fabrication and construction industry, Michael specializes in Miscellaneous and Structural steel projects. He leads projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. His career began in the fabrication shop, where he worked in various roles, from parts fabricator to welder and installer, gaining hands-on experience in all stages of the steel lifecycle. This foundation, combined with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, paved the way for his transition into project management.

Now with six years of project management experience, Michael has successfully overseen a wide range of projects valued between $50K and $1.5M, including hospital renovations, school expansions, and roof modifications. His expertise in coordinating teams, managing resources, and meeting client expectations has been key to his success. Promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2024, Michael now mentors junior project managers while continuing to manage complex projects with a focus on problem-solving and innovation. His leadership, attention to detail, and strong work ethic make him a key leader at Champion Ironworks, consistently driving projects to completion with precision and excellence.

Sancho Ponce, B.Sc. (Civil Eng.), MEP

Senior Estimator

Sancho holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Master in Engineering Program major in Civil Engineering and is a registered civil engineer in the Philippines. He has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has formal education in structural analysis and design, cost engineering, and project management

Randy Engel B.Ed, M.Ed

Business Development Manager

Randy has joined us as a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the construction industry and with many years of leadership expertise. With a strong foundation built on both practical experience and academic qualifications, Randy holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education, which enhance his ability to lead, mentor, and foster continuous growth within teams.

As a previous business owner for many years, Randy understands the dynamics of running successful operations and navigating the challenges that come with it. His positive, solutions-focused approach has earned him a reputation for meeting the diverse needs of the construction industry with professionalism and dedication.

Randy is passionate about building strong, trust-based relationships that are central to the success of any project. His team-oriented philosophy fosters collaboration, ensures clear communication, and ultimately drives projects to successful completion, on time and on budget
